General Instructions
The candidates appearing for Admission Tests to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes shall keep the following points in mind:
Call Letter & Admit Card
Candidates will NOT be sent a Call Letter for the Admission Test by post. Call Letters shall be mailed to the email address provided by the candidate in the Admission Application Form. Candidates are advised to check their email regularly.
Injury or Physical Strain during Admission Test
NSU does not take any responsibility for any injury or physical strain that may occur while performing physical performance tests during the admission process.
Dress Code for Admission Test
Candidates should be appropriately dressed to undergo the Physical Fitness and Sports Proficiency Test segments.
Payment of Fees
Please note that the candidate shall remit tuition and hostel fee only after the candidate has been issued a ‘Medically Fit’ slip. The candidate shall present the slip at the time of payment of fee.

Reporting Centres for Admission Test: The test Centres for the following sport/game is mentioned below (B.Sc –Sport Coaching). Hence the applicant should report only at Admission Test Centres the list of which is given below. For all other sport they can give at any centre of their choice

Eligibility Criteria: Undergraduate Programmes
The eligibility criteria that are common to the undergraduate programmes offered by NSU are enumerated below:
Qualifying Examination
In order to be eligible for admission to any of the undergraduate programmes of three years or four years duration, the candidate must have a pass in Higher Secondary (10 + 2 scheme of examination or any other equivalent examination recognised by the University).
Age
The age of the candidate shall be above 17 years. However, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor may relax the minimum age criterion at his/her discretion.
Calculation of Score
Admission shall be offered based purely on merit, i.e., based on the marks obtained in the Admission Test (Written Test, Sports Proficiency Test, and Physical Fitness Test), the marks scored by the candidate in the Qualifying Examination, or any other process as per the policy of National Sports University Prospectus 2018-’19 the University, with due weightage for the Physical Fitness Test.
NOTE
Securing qualifying marks in the Physical Fitness Test is compulsory. Any candidate who fails in the Physical Fitness Test shall be rejected regardless of the marks scored in the other components of the Admission Test or Qualifying Examination.
Other Conditions
The other conditions to be fulfilled by the candidate are as follows:
  • Representations: He/she must have represented his/her School/District at the Inter-school /district Competition in any one of the Games / Sports.
  • Medical Fitness: He/she must be medically fit and free from physical deformities and must be approved by any Government Medical Officer.
  • He/she should have scored at least 45% marks in the Admission Tests conducted by the University, the particulars of which are provided under the section titled, Details of Admission Test, below.
  • National & International Achievers: Bonus points will be awarded to those holding national positions. International athletes are eligible for Direct Admission to the programmes.
Details of Admission Tests: Undergraduate Programmes
The Admission Tests to the undergraduate programmes of the University consists of three segments, viz., Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, and Skill/Proficiency Test in Games & Sports.

Weightage for Sports Participation
The criteria for awarding weightage for sports participation, the weightage thereof, and other relevant details are provided in Annexure-I.
Women Candidates
Married girl is eligible for admission.In the event of a married student conceiving during the course, she shall discontinue her studies for at least one academic year she may re-join the same course afresh from the beginning of the semester she had discontinued her studies, provided the University guidelines pertaining to the maximum duration of the course is adhered to.Under no circumstances will she be permitted to keep the infant along with her in the Hostel.
Foreign Candidates
Foreign candidates who wish to secure admission in any programme offered by NSU, Manipur shall apply through the Embassy of their country / Diplomatic Channels or through Indian Council for Cultural Relations.

Such candidates shall only be admitted based on their credentials. He/She shall have scored the minimum qualifying marks in Admission Test and shall meet acceptable standards in medical examination.Please refer to GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS at www.yas.nic.in
